Terms of Service

1) Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you use the App on behalf of an entity, you represent you have authority to bind it, and “you” includes that entity.

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the App.

Children: The App is not directed to children. If you are under 13, do not use the App. If you are under 16 in the EEA/UK (or under the age requiring parental consent in your country), do not use the App.

3) What the App Does

The App allows you to:

  • capture a photo of a receipt/bill or upload one from your device,

  • use automated tools (including OCR/AI/LLMs) to extract items and amounts,

  • edit extracted information,

  • enter names/labels and assign items to people,

  • calculate a split summary,

  • export/share results (image/text/copy).

The App is a convenience tool only. You are solely responsible for confirming accuracy before using results.

4) AI & OCR Disclosures (Critical)

You acknowledge and agree:

  • AI/OCR extraction may be wrong, incomplete, duplicated, misread, mis-structured, or fail entirely.

  • Taxes, service charges, tips, discounts, and rounding may be misinterpreted.

  • The App does not verify the receipt against ground truth.

You must verify outputs (items, totals, assignments, and splits). Any use of results is at your own risk.

5) No Advice; No Enforcement; No Dispute Resolution

The App does not provide legal, financial, accounting, tax, or other professional advice. The App does not:

  • enforce payment,

  • collect debts,

  • guarantee fairness,

  • mediate disputes between people.

Any dispute between you and others (e.g., friends) is solely your responsibility.

6) Your Content & Permissions

6.1 Your Content

“User Content” includes receipt images, extracted receipt text, edits, names/labels, assignments, and anything you input.

You represent and warrant that:

  • you have the right to upload and use the receipt/bill and any other User Content,

  • your use does not violate any law, privacy rights, confidentiality obligations, or third-party rights.

6.2 App Permissions

To provide functionality, the App may request device permissions such as:

  • Camera (to capture receipt photos)

  • Photos/Media (to upload receipt images)

You can deny permissions, but features may not function.

7) Subscription, Trial, Billing (Apple/Google)

7.1 Free Trial

The App may offer a 1-week free trial. Trial eligibility and availability may vary by platform, country, and store policies.

7.2 Auto-Renewal

If you start a trial or subscription, it may auto-renew unless canceled through your App Store / Play Store settings. Apple advises canceling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid renewal. 

7.3 Billing & Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Apple/Google. We do not receive your full payment card details.

7.4 Cancellation

You must cancel through the store account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

7.5 Refunds

Refunds are governed by Apple/Google policies. We do not guarantee refunds.

8) No Storage Promise

The App is designed so that we do not provide user accounts and do not maintain server-side user histories of your receipts or bill splits. Receipt processing may require transient handling to deliver the feature; see our Privacy Policy for details.

 

9) Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • use the App unlawfully or to violate others’ rights,

  • upload content you do not have rights to share,

  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or bypass security,

  • interfere with the App, servers, or networks,

  • use the App to generate outputs at scale for building a competing product or training a model.

10) Third-Party Services (including AI providers)

The App relies on third-party infrastructure and AI providers (including OpenRouter and underlying model providers) to deliver the receipt parsing feature. Those services may have their own terms and policies, and may process data outside your country. OpenRouter states it stores request metadata (e.g., token counts/latency) but not necessarily prompt content unless configured; providers have their own retention policies. 

11) Intellectual Property

The App, including software, design, trademarks, and content (excluding your User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, lawful purposes.

 

12) Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without compensation.

 

13) Service Availability; Changes; Termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any feature) at any time, for any reason, including maintenance, security, legal compliance, or business reasons.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law.

 

14) DISCLAIMERS

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND AVAILABILITY.

We do not warrant that:

  • outputs will be correct or complete,

  • the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free,

  • receipt extraction will work for every receipt format/language.

 

15) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND ANY THIRD PARTY (INCLUDING FRIENDS) ARISING FROM BILL SPLITTING OR PAYMENTS.

  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE LESSER OF:
    (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR
    (B) INR 1,000 (OR LOCAL-CURRENCY EQUIVALENT).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

 

16) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:

  • your use of the App,

  • your User Content,

  • your violation of these Terms or applicable law,

  • any dispute between you and third parties.

 

17) International Use

The App is available worldwide. You are responsible for compliance with your local laws. Features may vary by country due to legal or technical constraints.

 

18) Governing Law & Jurisdiction (India) + Mandatory Rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Pune, Maharastra, India] have exclusive jurisdiction.

Mandatory rights carve-out: If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with non-waivable protections, nothing in these Terms limits those rights where applicable.

 

19) Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms where permitted.
