1) Summary

TravelFolio is designed to be privacy-forward:

  • No backend / no cloud storage for your trip data

  • All trip data and documents are stored locally on your device

  • The App does not connect to the internet for your content

  • Subscriptions are handled through Apple, with RevenueCat used for purchase validation 

  • No advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party tracking

2) Information You Store in the App (On-Device Only)

TravelFolio lets you store:

  • Trip metadata (name, destination text, dates, solo/group mode) 

  • Travelers’ names (in group mode) 

  • Item titles (e.g., “Passport”, “Visa”, etc.) 

  • Attachments (photos and PDFs, including scanned documents) 

Where stored: locally via CoreData (SQLite) and the App’s sandboxed Documents directory; thumbnails cached locally. 

We do not receive or store this content on our servers in normal operation.

3) Sensitive Data Notice

Users may store highly sensitive personal documents (passport scans/photos, visas, insurance, bookings, vaccination records). 
Because the data is stored locally, you control what you save and how you secure your device and backups.

4) Permissions

The App may request:

  • Camera (for document scanning) 

  • Face ID / Touch ID (for optional App Lock) 

The App does not request permissions for location, microphone, contacts, notifications, Bluetooth/NFC, or advertising tracking. 
Photo importing uses the iOS system picker and does not require broad photo library access.

5) Exports and Sharing (User-Initiated)

If you use Export Data, the App shares your data via the iOS share sheet. This is initiated by you; the App does not transmit your data automatically. 
Once exported, the receiving app/service (email, cloud storage, messaging, etc.) processes the data under its own privacy policy. You are responsible for choosing where to send exports.

6) Subscriptions and Third Parties (RevenueCat + Apple)

TravelFolio uses:

  • Apple App Store / StoreKit for purchases

  • RevenueCat for subscription management and purchase validation 

RevenueCat receives purchase-related data (e.g., receipt/entitlement status) and does not receive your trip documents or trip content. 
Apple/RevenueCat process data under their own policies.

7) Analytics / Tracking / Ads

TravelFolio includes:

  • No analytics SDKs (no Firebase/Mixpanel/Amplitude, etc.)

  • No advertising or ad networks

  • No third-party tracking and no ATT prompt

8) Data Retention and Deletion

  • Your data stays on-device until you delete it, use “Delete All Data,” or uninstall the App. 

  • Uninstalling generally removes the App’s on-device database and files from the sandbox. 

  • There is no server-side account data to delete because we do not host your travel content.

9) Device Backups (Important)

Depending on your iOS settings, your device backups (e.g., iCloud backup) may include App data. Backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings. We do not control them.

10) Security

We rely on iOS sandboxing and offer optional App Lock (Face ID/Touch ID/passcode) to help protect access on your device. 
No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for securing your device and exported files.

11) Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us via support email, contact birthdaygirl0121@gmail.com.

12) Your Rights and Requests

Because the App stores your travel content locally and does not sync it to us, we typically cannot access, retrieve, or delete your on-device trip content for you.
If you contact support, we may hold support correspondence (your email and what you send) and can delete that on request.

13) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the Effective Date and make the revised version available in the App and/or store listing.
